Genetic factors (Family history). Several ovarian cancer susceptibility genes have been identified, primarily BRCA1 and BRCA2. Hereditary non-polyposis colorectal cancer (Lynch syndrome) are characterized by a high risk for developing colorectal, endometrial, stomach, small bowel, breast, pancreas, and ovarian cancers.
