Clinical features

Sense or feeling of a bulge protruding through the vaginal opening.

Backache or dragging pain in the pelvis.

Dyspareunia.

Urinary symptoms. (in case of cystocele)

Difficulty in passing stool, the patient has to support the posterior vaginal wall for the stool to pass easily. (In case of rectocele)

Per vaginal discharge.

With rectocele, a bulge of the anterior vaginal wall, reducible with positive cough impulse.

With Cystourethrocele, bulging of anterior vaginal wall involving the lower 1/3 which may be associated with stress incontinence.

With Uterine prolapse, cervix can be observed in the lower aspect of the vagina
