Etiology

Choriocarcinoma can result from the following conditions:
Hydatidiform mole in 50% of all cases.
Spontaneous abortion in 20% of all cases
Normal term pregnancy in 20% to 30% of all cases.
Ectopic pregnancy in 2% of all cases.
