Investigations

Urinalysis,  urine sample with high protein, low sugar, nitrites positive, 

leucocyte esterase positive, low pH and Urine microscopy (>8–10 WBC/HPF) may be suggestive of UTI.

Urine for culture and sensitivity, growth of at least 10⁴ or 10⁵ colony forming units of bacteria/ml of urine may be suggestive of UTI.
