Haematological changes – HELLP syndrome may lead to disseminated intravascular coagulopathy.

Acute renal failure

Respiratory system

Pulmonary oedema

Foetal complications

Intrauterine growth restriction, foetal distress, intrauterine foetal death.

Central Nervous System

Cerebral oedema

Cerebral haemorrhage

Blindness, possibly due to retinal artery vasospasms and retinal detachment

Coma as a result may be a result of Cerebral Vascular Accident (CVA)
