Aquous dynamics

Intraocular pressure is maintained by a balance between inflow and outflow of the aqueous humor, the fluid which nourishes the transparent structures of the eye.

Aqueous humour is produced and secreted by the epithelial lining of ciliary body.

The excess aqueous humor leaves the eye through Uveal scleral route(Non conventional route) and a conventional route in which it enters the anterior chamber of the eye through the pupil, and leaves slowly through the trabecular meshwork at the iridocorneal angle of the anterior chamber then flows into Schlemm’s canal and back into venous circulation through episcleral veins.
