Extra ocular muscles

Are groups of muscles which are not part of the eye ball but they enable eye movement.
Recti muscles
Superior rectus muscle
Enables upward movement of the eye controlled by the oculomotor nerve.
Medial rectus muscle
Enables medial movement of the eye controlled by the oculomotor nerve.
Lateral rectus muscle
Enables lateral movement of the eye controlled by abducens nerve.
Inferior rectus muscle
Enables downward movement of the eye controlled by the oculomotor nerve.

Oblique muscles
Superior oblique muscle
Enables medial rotation of the eye(intorsion) controlled by trochlear nerve.
Inferior oblique muscle
Enables lateral rotation of the eye(extorsion) controlled by oculomotor nerve.
