Etiology

Epistaxis is caused by rupture of blood vessels in the nasal mucosa secondary to different causes. There are five blood vessels whose terminal branches supply the nasal cavity. Anterior ethmoidal artery, Posterior ethmoidal artery, Sphenopalatine artery, Greater palatine artery and Superior labial artery.
